  1. Kia ora Te Naera!

What a beautiful kennings poem you have written here! Unfortunately I am not fluent in Te Reo, but did you say this poem was about your own kurī?

I love the line ‘leg-licker’! My dogs always lick my legs!!

Keep up the awesome mahi, Te Naera!!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Charlotte :)

  2. Kia ora Te Naera,
Ka rawe! Kennings look like such fun. I hope they as much fun to make as they are to read.
What about making one in te reo? Do you think it would work as well?
    Ngā mihi,
    Maria

  3. Kia ora Te Naera!

I REALY enjoyed listening to your kennings poem about kurī!

You have captured the traits of dogs so well by pairing each of the nouns so well - like "bone" with "chewer". kurī sure love a good bone to chew! Did you know that's where we get the phrase "chewing on a bone" when we are describing thinking about something intently. Phrases like these are called idioms.

I also like how you have captured kurī as real family pets. Do you have a dog of your own? If so, what breed is your dog, and does he/she chase cats as your poem suggests?

I really look forward to your reply!
    Nga mihi nui
